Status effects are buffs & debuffs that affect Agents caught by certain abilities in Valorant. They affect your gameplay in a positive or negative way, the one we will cover and explain today is the Vulnerable status effects so sit tight, and get ready to learn something new.

What Does Vulnerable Mean In Valorant?

Vulnerable in Valorant is a debuff that causes the enemies affected by it to receive double damage from all sources. This means in that time frame in which the debuff affects you, abilities & bullets will deal double the damage they would usually do.

Which Abilities Apply Vulnerable Debuff In Valorant

This debuff holds very big strategic value in Valorant, and as such is not dealt easily and is only present in four abilities in total.

The abilities that apply Vulnerable in Valorant are:

  • Viper's (C) Snake Bite
  • Iso's (Q) Undercut
  • Astra's (C) Gravity Well
  • Killjoy's (Q) Alarmbot

As we said before, these are not abilities that can be cast straight forward, and will not affect the enemy agents so easily. In Snake Bite, the enemy agent has to be inside the abilities AOE to be affected and can exit it easily. The debuff will stay only 2 seconds on the agent, so in cases like these, you will have to be swift if you wish to do that "double damage" to the affected enemy agent.

Here's how long the debuff will be applied per ability:

  • Snake Bite - 2 seconds
  • Alarmbot - 4 seconds
  • Undercut - 4 seconds
  • Gravity Well - 5 seconds

The duration of the debuff is well balanced, the more difficult the ability is to use the longer the debuff will last once the enemy agent is caught. This status debuff isn't something new in the gaming sphere, as it's also present in Diablo 4 and has a similar effect, with the exception that instead of double damage, the increased damage taken is just 20%.

This is all you need to know about this debuff, so next time you play Viper and that Snake Bite gets someone, you don't have to aim at the head, a couple of body shots will be just enough.
