The Episode 5 Act 3 Battle Pass features the Corbin's Light Gun Buddy, made in memory of Corbin, a Valorant fan that sadly passed away.
Riot Games has never shied away from filling up their Valorant battle passes with unique cosmetics that boast interesting backgrounds, whether they're iconic internet memes or references to community members.Everyone remembers the hilarious "Revive Me Jett" player, Lance “Finest” Arcilla, who sadly passed away early this year. In 2020, Finest went viral after pleading to a Jett player on his team to revive him - unbeknownst to him at the time, only Sage had the ability to do so. A year later, Riot created a unique battle pass spray referencing this goofy mishap.
For the Valorant Episode 5 Act 3 Battle Pass, the developers decided to honor a member of the Valorant community with a heartwarming Gun Buddy, titled Corbin's Light.
Shine on, Corbin. Featured as a free item in the EP5//Act3 Battlepass, the "Corbin's Light" Gun Buddy was created to celebrate Corbin, a member of our VALORANT community.Read about Corbin's Light and his continued impact through his family's Foundation:https://t.co/7jwVJLn8GE pic.twitter.com/STYgeSshcu

The Gun Buddy, which is a free reward within the battle pass pays tribute to Corbin, a devoted Valorant player who sadly lost his battle with cancer this year. Taking design notes from Corbin and his brother, the cosmetic is a stunning-looking star that references their love for astronomy. It even has the coordinates of a star named after Corbin thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Catalina Faerman, Associate Integration Artist at Riot, explained:
We chose blue for the crystal as it was Corbin’s favorite color, and I added the coordinates to the Make-a-Wish star as an engraving on the frame. I haven’t been on the Valorant team for long, so I’m honored and grateful beyond words to the team who entrusted me and supported me with this task. Most of all, I’m indebted to Corbin and our players for inspiring us and giving me the opportunity to make art for them. I’m incredibly proud of Corbin’s Light and I will carry this experience with me always.
On top of honoring Corbin in-game, Riot Games will make a donation via the Riot Games Social Impact Fund to the C-Squad Foundation, which was started by Corbin's family before his passing.
