A new act usually means a new agent or a new map but what will in be for Valorant Episode 5 Act 2. We look at what players can expect including the release date, leaks, and that all-important battle pass.
Act 1 may have only just begun, introducing Pearl, the game's newest map, which will take the place of Split, with the latter taken out of casual and competitive game modes.
With that out the way, attention now diverts to Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 and what new additions will be coming to the game. A new act usually means a new agent or map, and considering we just got a new map, a new agent will likely arrive with the seasonal update.
But what else do we know about Valorant Episode 5 Act 2, and when can we expect it to be released? Our primer looks to explain all.
Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 - Release Date
While there has been no official release date for Valorant Episode 5 Act 2, based off historical precedence, and the scheduled end of the Act 1 Battle Pass, we have a good idea of the start date for Valorant Episode 5 Act 2.
At the time of writing (June 30), there are approximately six weeks left of the Act 1 Battle Pass, or 55 days to be exact. That means Valorant Episode 5 Act 1 is expected to end on Wednesday. August 24.
The Battle Pass ends on the same day as the season does and a new one also begins. That means Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 should be getting released on Wednesday, August 24.
New Agent - Leaks
With the release of Pearl last season, all signs point to a new Agent making their debut with Episode 5 Act 2. The last Agent added was Fade back in April as part of the Episode 4 Act 3 update so players can't complain too much if the developers skipped a season, which has happened in the past.
There has been just a solitary leak for the upcoming Agent, revealing a potential codename for the next Valorant agent. According to ValorLeaks, Agent 21 is codenamed Mage

The implications are clear, the Mage will be someone who has the ability to conjure. But such a character could take different shapes, is it a Battle Mage with abilities to rival Raze? Or will they be able to take up a more supportive role like Sage.
In actuality, the smart money is on the next Agent being a controller, so it may be that the devs are cooking up something that doesn't fit into any neat boxes.
We will be sure to update this section with more information as it becomes available.
