It might be a while before we get to see it, but reliable sources have confirmed Riot's next Agent has a curious codename.
Ah, we all love leaks right? Especially when it comes to big news such as weapon skins, or in this case, Agents. While Riot continuing to develop new playable characters isn't really news, the codename utilized during development might give us a hint into what they could look or play like.
This time around, the ever-reliable ValorLeaks mentions that a new Agent codename has been leaked, and it's SmokeDancer.
New Agent Codename: SmokeDancer | #VALORANT

As we've mentioned before, codenames do hint at what type of Agent we can be seeing. For instance, Mage was Harbor's codename, and one can argue the Controller does in fact looks like a water-bending wizard.
More clear examples include Deadeye for Chamber, Vampire for Reyna, and Sprinter for Neon. What can SmokeDancer be referring to? Could it be a new controller with a heavy focus on smoke abilities or maybe a hard counter to them that can easily go past their trickery?
Going by release patterns, Riot has never added two characters of the same role back to back. Furthermore, we already have five Controllers, making Sentinels now the lowest represented role in Valorant, with just four: Sage, Chamber, Cypher, and Killjoy.
Things get more aggravating for the Sentinel role when you remember that the last one added to Valorant was none other than the infamous Chamber, released back in November 2021.
It'll be some time before we get to see who SmokeDancer ends up being but rest assured that we'll be covering everything you need to know about the Agent as more information is revealed.
