A few weeks ago rumors of NRG building a superteam using the core roster of OpTic Gaming, who failed to earn a spot in the franchising program by Riot Games, started making the rounds on social media. After the signing of head coach Chet, it seems those rumors are going to be true, as the North American organization confirmed the arrival of Pujan "FNS" Mehta as their new player, acting as the in-game leader.

News broke on November 8 via social media, with NRG posting a video on social media to hype up the arrival of the 30-year-old.

FNS is a highly experience IGL, and although his mechanics at a pro level have been put into question more than once, it's undeniable that his expertise and shot-calling more than make up for his shortcomings.

Signed by Team Envy in 2020 and remaining with the org during its transition into OpTic Gaming until its eventual release in 2022, FNS found incredible success leading a team filled with young talent. The IGL led OpTic to victory at Masters Reykjavík earlier in the year and a 2nd place finish at Champions, losing to LOUD, the team against OpTic would develop an incredibly rivarly that many had hoped would continue going into VCT 2023.

As it stands, FNS joins Sam "S0m" Oh as the only two members of the NRG roster, that'll be looking to compete against the likes of Sentinels, 100 Thieves, LOUD, Cloud9, and more in the VCT Americas League on the road to international glory later down the line.
