The number of search queries on Google has seen a massive increase in "How To Uninstall Valorant", and while people would guess that it's because people are quitting the game, it might not be the real cause. Whenever a new update gets released same as every other software, bugs appear & they need some effort to bypass them.

In the past week, we've had a ton of error codes reportedly appearing, as well as communications not working properly, and now the latest one, which is the system restart requirement to play the game.

How To Fix Your Game Requires A System Restart To Play Valorant

As the error message suggests, you will have to do a System restart if you want to make the Play button clickable and enter ingame. A system restart is an ordinary PC restart and may be caused by multiple reasons, such as:

  • Vanguard is not being launched properly
  • An update has been done and needs a restart to proceed
  • Valorant launch parameter requirements aren't met

First Fix: Restart Your PC/Laptop

Nothing extraordinary, just click the Windows button, then proceed by clicking on the Power button and then on Restart. This will restart your PC, and make sure both Vanguard is launched properly, and that any of the installed files will get their needed restart to make them work.

Second Fix: Run Valorant As An Administrator

If restarting didn't work, your second bet is to make sure Valorant is launched with administrator rights. To do that, find your Valorant icon/shortcut, right-click on it, and select Run As Administrator.

Third Fix: Reinstall Valorant

There are a ton of guides on the internet that suggest very useless stuff such as enabling Vanguard or running as compatibility mode etc. If you opt to do them, you will most probably waste your time, and to avoid that, simply Uninstall Valorant and Install it again.

One of these three fixes will work 99% of the time. In case you're one of the 1% that struggle to turn the game on, you will have to contact Riot Support, explain your problem, and wait for further instructions from their team. This is a very rare occurrence, but it still may happen.
