Even if they are not in their greatest form, Sentinels are the most popular org in Valorant. Yes, form is temporary, and class is permanent, but to reach previous high's changes must be made.

Valorant: Are Sentinels Going To Replace Their Goat?

TenZ is in no doubt the face of Valorant. He is known to communities outside Valorant, and his persona and plays hypes up the fans to the sky. Winning Masters 2021 in Reykjavik made Sentinels the powerhouse of America.

Since then a lot has changed and the 2021 Sentinels is nothing like the one in 2023, except for TenZ. Over the time period from Reykjavik to now they've changed their roster a couple of times adding pub stars and streamers like ShahZam and even the CS:GO legend shroud.

Aspas To Replace TenZ?

Sentinel's current performance cannot be thrown at a singular player, as everyone that watched their games could clearly see it's a team issue rather than a player one.

TenZ has had phenomenal games like the most recent one vs 100 Thieves but also has had rather average ones due to agent & role changes. Zekken is Sentinels's current duelist, and TenZ has been forced to practice heroes out of his hero pool like KAY/O.

On the more southern side of the globe, there's been a new drama between Aspas and LOUD in which rumors are spreading that he might be leaving the Champions 2022 winners.

This, combined with the rumors about TenZ leaving SEN, brought a lot of small talk but also legit rumors about Aspas being the player to replace TenZ in Sentinels.

In a recent interview "Shasher" claimed that the drama between Aspas and LOUD is about his contract renewal and Aspas asking for a bigger salary. LOUD reportedly denied that, and that's the main source of drama between them.

Sentinels Interest in Aspas

Sentinels have a lot at stake. Having a big fan base and hype surrounding them asks for success and celebrations on the grounds. Aspas is a superstar in Valorant no doubt, and Sentinels probably arent the only team interested in him.

“I have heard [Sentinels] have potentially offered aspas a major contract going forward, and they are definitely interested in that for next year. The NRG report is not true.” - Slasher

Months back, there were rumors about huge interest in Aspas from NRG. In the interview, Slasher denies those claims and says that Sentinels on the other hand is the team that's actively pursuing Aspas with a major contract, potentially a bigger one that LOUD offered.

TenZ is still in Sentinels, and no official announcement has been made about his departure. In case the Aspas rumors come out true and he signs for Sentinels, Slasher believes TenZ will be the one to go since Aspas and TenZ have a similar role and playstyle.

Is Aspas The Right Fit For Sentinels

The fresh rumor surrounding Erick might be just journalist talks and there might be nothing coming out of it. Sentinels already have a duelist in Zekken which is a star of the team, and replacing TenZ with a duelist doesn't seem like an upgrade to the team or a solution to their problems.

LOUD on the other hand, are qualified for Valorant Champions 2023, and having such rumors spread just a week before the event seem unlikely to be true. Even though they aren't the same team that won last year's Champions, they are still considered among the favorites to win this based on the Bookmaker's Odds.

In case the rumors become true, Sentinels might have a superstar team on paper.
